Nine-year-old Tamsyn's charity appeal
A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl has started a project to raise money for Children in Need.
Tamsyn Murray, from Morningside in Madeley, asked friends to make bookmarks to sell in aid of the charity at her school on Friday.
The Sir John Offley Primary School pupils will sell the handcrafted bookmarks at lunchtime to their fellow pupils. Tamsyn's dad, Andy Murray, spoke of his pride.
He said: "She decided she wanted to do something for the charity, so she approached the head teacher to arrange it all.
"She's got a few friends to help her and they just want to raise a few pounds towards the charity.
"I was really surprised but proud to see all the hard work they've put in to making the bookmarks. They've made them in three separate sizes and different designs."
All proceeds of Tamsyn's bookmarks will go towards this year's Children in Need fund.
The charity has raised over £600 million since 1980 to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
