Laid off staff join style chain

FORMER Woolworths workers are among those who have secured jobs at a new fashion store.

New Look opened at Festival Park in Hanley last week.

A total of 35 positions were created, with staff training at other New Look stores in the area.

Jo Baskeyfield, New Look store manager, said: "We have been very impressed by the standard of applicants that Jobcentre Plus put forward for the jobs advertised. We filled all our supervisory and speciality posts."

Louise Veric, Jobcentre Plus employer account manager for Staffordshire, added: "The assessment day was a great success; we had people from a wide range of backgrounds. Among those who were offered jobs were single parents and ex-Woolworths workers."
