We won't get a vote on hanging
I HEARTILY agree with M Davies of Blythe Bridge and Colin Beardmore of Stone.
They both would like to see the return of capital punishment for murder.
I would also like to see it brought back, and it's not any kind of knee-jerk reaction over the deaths of two brave policewomen. Our jails are over-run with murderers and there doesn't seem to go a day without reading about another one.
However, as much as myself, M Davies and Colin Beardmore want to see the return of the death sentence, I feel – no, I know – it will never be brought back. No government is ever going to give the public the vote on this subject.

Could you just imagine if we were given the vote and it was brought back? The do-gooders would come out of the woodwork to object.
Seriously though, I would be first in line to put the rope around Brady and Huntley.
Bring back hanging. Sadly, we have got more chance of seeing Elvis riding Shergar, being chased by Lord Lucan on Red Rum.
