REAL ale drinkers are invited to a cricket club's fourth annual beer festival.

Porthill Park Cricket Club, in Wolstanton, is hosting its 2009 Beer Festival next week.

Drinkers will be able to choose from 30 beers and ciders from across the UK, all priced at £2 a pint.

There will be a treat for sports fans as the Six Nations Rugby and the Cheltenham Gold Cup will be shown on a big screen.

Club chairman Simon Ellams said: "Our previous beer festivals have been very successful as we received great support from the local community and we are confident this festival will be popular too.

"We are grateful for local businesses who have supported the event."

The four day festival starts on Thursday and ends on Sunday.

It is open from 6pm on Thursday until 11pm, from 1pm to 11pm on Friday, from 12noon to 11pm on Saturday and from 12noon to 10.30pm on Sunday.

Sunday festival beers will be priced £1 until they are sold out.

Refreshments will be available throughout the festival.

Admission, to over 18s only, is free.

Anyone who wants to sponsor a barrel at the festival can contact Mr Ellams on 07775 506 887.
