It is time we, the people, made the rules on MPs' pay

I HOPE you will let me add more to the article about me in your newspaper on May 22 about MP Charlotte Atkins sending a policeman to our house.

The MP has visited our house and I have been at meetings with her and other Labour members, but she knows I am different from most of the members and the public as she could not sweet-talk me when I believed she was wrong. I would not physically harm her.

The only thing Mrs Atkins can do is blow her own trumpet, but like this Government she is all spin.

I hope the people of the Moorlands oust her at the next election. She knows I will not vote for her, or Labour.

They all keep saying they have done nothing wrong, just going by the rules. Are they stupid? They made the rules.

I hope the people will not stop until we get the rules we want. We, the people, should work out MPs'pay and any expenses they genuinely should have. These pay-offs should be stopped and if some MPs have had money they should pay it back. They sent the police to my house – it is these MPs that the police should be visiting.

I have sent 15 letters out so far to MPs and ministers. Mrs Atkins does not support people's panels to award MPs their pay, she does not want to rent flats or houses, she thinks they should still buy houses, that is so they can pocket the profits. I suggested £700 a month will be enough. She does not agree that MPs should be full-time with no extra jobs, nor that the people should elect the Speaker of the House and the Lords.
