You can Revell in a stand-up treat with Radio 4 funny man
Thirty years on, after stints alongside Arnold Brown, Norman Lovett and Paul Merton, he's headlining the first Stand-Up At The Swan show of the year in Leek.
A former nominee for the Perrier Award at The Edinburgh Festival, Revell, pictured, has appeared on countless TV and radio shows, including Friday Night Live and Live At Jongleurs, had his own series on Radio 4, and appeared on Just A Minute and The News Quiz.
Not only that but he's also written for Dave Allen, Not The Nine O'Clock News, Alas Smith And Jones, Rory Bremner and Jasper Carrot.
Also on the bill is Tudur Owen, who has 10 years' experience of performing stand up in both English and his first language – Welsh. He has written, presented and performed numerous television and radio shows and was one of the winners of the BBC3 comedy writing competition, The Last Laugh in 2005.
Lee Grant, meanwhile, has been doing musical comedy for 18 months. "Will gig anywhere," he says, "but best not book me for a children's party."
Also on the bill is Marcus Shufflebottom, and a special guest – BBC Radio Stoke presenter Pete Morgan who is on stage as part of his Stand-Up For Stoke campaign on his show.
"I love watching comedy," says Pete. "I'm a big fan of live comedy shows and I've been buying all their DVDs. But to be honest it's another thing again to stand on a stage and try to make people laugh."
None other than Nick Hancock is Pete's mentor with the presenter receiving masterclasses from comedy stars Lee Mack, Tim Vine, Mitch Benn, Fred MacAulay, Jim Bowen and Cannon and Ball.
