Dead man is identified

A HOMELESS man found dead outside a church has been named.

Geoffrey Hall was discovered by a passer-by walking through the churchyard at Stoke Minster at about 8am on January 25.

A post-mortem examination revealed the 61-year-old died of hypothermia.

Mr Hall was identified by an outreach worker.

Yesterday North Staffordshire coroner Ian Smith opened and adjourned an inquest into his death.

Staffordshire Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
