Stoke City: Fans' verdict

I DON'T think anybody could attach any blame to neutrals if they fell asleep for 90 minutes. They certainly wouldn't have missed much! The first half was instantly forgettable – it really was that bad! The second half wasn't much better, but super Tommy had to be in good form to deny a couple of Wigan efforts. It was sad to see Kitson's terrible run-out. He just looks as though he doesn't have a gram of confidence in his body, but hopefully a goal off his backside on Tuesday will perk him up. Despite the poor spectacle, it was a very handy point – catapulting us momentarily into the top half of the best league in the world. Bring on the Millers!

THANKS, Mr Wenger – not only have you alerted the ref (wrongly) about our style of play, but the home fans were doing their very best to get our players sent off and the Wigan players needed an Oscar for their play acting and rolling over on the pitch. Fortunately Mr Riley, the referee, was not led by the protests and on the whole had a decent game.

What on earth were we wearing? Yellow shirts and RED shorts, not the best of colours to mix ... we looked more liked something to eat! This was not the best of games as too many passes went astray, but it was a sound defensive performance and a clean sheet can't be bad. Sorensen made some tremendous saves and kept us in the game. Brilliant atmosphere, good point.

IT'S that long since I'd been to the JJB Stadium, I had forgotten what a horrendous place it is to get to. Memories of it came flooding back as we queued from junction 25 to the ground. After a dour first half when I can't recall either keeper having to make a save, both teams needed to up the tempo.

Wigan did raise their game in the second half as we were on the back foot for most of it. We may have fallen behind on a number of occasions, but for some good goalkeeping from Sorensen and right at the end we had the chance to steal it. Still we came away with a point and the pies are nice at the JJB, so it was worth all the hassle to get there and back.
