Monday, February 02, 2009, 09:00

STOKE City match-winner James Beattie put one over former Southampton team-mate Wayne Bridge to earn the points on Saturday.

Beattie scored for the second successive game to make it two in three games since his £2m switch from Championship side Sheffield United.

And he couldn't have scripted more dramatic circumstances in which to claim his second goal for the club after heading home Matthew Etherington's left-wing cross in first-half injury time.
