Stone Dominoes football club sign Ralf Little of Royle family fame

STONE Dominoes have added a touch of showbiz to their squad by signing Ralf Little.

The star of television comedy series like The Royle Family and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps has registered with the North West Counties League club and could make his debut in a pre-season friendly against a Port Vale side on July 18.

Dominoes assistant manager Jamie Cartwright struck up a friendship with Little when he moved to work in London.

And Little played at in a charity match at the Springbank Stadium at Yarnfield last November when a Stone Dominoes XI played an Arsenal pro-celebrity side.

Dominoes official Colin Heath said: “Ralf told Jamie he would like to play for us and he has definitely signed.

“His appearances will be restricted by work, but our boss, Shaun Hollinshead, is all for it and we hope Ralf would put numbers on the gate.”

JAMES McCarron scored the only goal as Rocester beat Stafford Rangers 1-0 last night. Tonight, Congleton host Macclesfield (7.45pm).
