Port Vale: Haldane hoping to impress boss
The manager revealed this week he is in talks with Haldane's parent club, Bristol Rovers, about signing the forward on a short-term deal during the January transfer window.
But the 24-year-old wants to ensure Adams is fully aware of his worth by performing well during today's FA Cup clash with Huddersfield and Tuesday's trip to Lincoln before his loan is up.
He said: "Hopefully I can come back to Port Vale, so I'll speak to the gaffer about that and see where my future is.
"He wants me to stay, and I want to stay, it's just a case of getting everything sorted.
"I also need to score more goals. I'm getting chances, but I need to start putting them away."
Haldane has netted once in 11 starts and seven substitute appearances for Vale.
He played with a sore and bruised left ankle in this week's 2-2 draw with Torquay and is ready to do the same again today against Huddersfield.
However, he knows the team must improve on Tuesday's efforts.
He said: "We are really disappointed we didn't play how we can.
"The gaffer has said we need to buck up our ideas for Huddersfield, otherwise we are going to lose."
Meanwhile, Haldane says Adams has made an astute signing by bringing in his Bristol Rovers team-mate Sean Rigg until January 2.
Like Haldane, Rigg usually plays on the left of midfield or up front.
But they both fitted into a three-man forward line against Torquay as Haldane played on the right and Rigg on the left of Marc Richards.
Haldane said: "Riggy is one of my best mates from Bristol.
"He's a good player who causes teams problems, so I think he will do well here.
"He's a bit more tricky than me and I am a bit more direct."
