WALSALL'S Martin Gethin returned to winning ways on Sunday evening thanks to a points victory over Jason Nesbitt.

Lightweight Gethin had suffered three consecutive defeats going into the bout, staged at Liquid Envy nightclub in Luton.

However, a confident display over the four three-minute rounds sawGethin record a victory.

"There was a sense of relief to get the win," he admitted. "I'd been a bit unlucky in the last few fights what with cuts and strange decisions but I was pleased to get back to winning ways.

"I felt good. I was a bit stiff in the opening round but after that I started to relax and was pleased with my overall performance."

Gethin is now hoping to secure a shot at Lee McAllister's Commonwealth title.
