LOWLY Cheshire YFC took title-chasing Willaston White Star to task in the Premier Division Knock-out Cup.

Adam Vernon scored the only goal as the third-bottom side beat second-placed Star.

But elsewhere it went largely to form, as Betley thumped basement side Fox Elworth 5-0 with two goals for John Betteley-Smith and strikes from Alex Jump, Tommy Harrison and Matt Bayliss.

Nantwich Wanderers came from behind to hammer AC Wickstead 8-2, after Richard Prince charged down the keeper's clearance to offer AC a shock early lead.

But Wanderers hit back with Michael Forrester firing in four times. John Scarlett, Dean Heath, Chris Evans and Ben Spruce added further goals, while Antony Tonkinson managed a late consolation.

Railway Hotel breezed into a 3-0 interval lead against Wrenbury, with Mike Blundell, with two, and Adam Parker on target.

They eventually managed to progress 3-2, but only after surviving a scare when Jez Tagg struck twice in the second half.

Imperial United ran up double figures against hapless St Mary's in the Division One Knock-out Cup,

Danny May (2), Chris Hardman (2), Mitchell Jasinski, Martin Day, Robert Timmis, Matthew Cope, Alex Adlington and an own goal made up the scoring for Imp in their 10-2 win, while Andy Blud and Gordon Broomoore managed consolation efforts.

Simon Bade collected a hat-trick for Union as they thrashed AFC Wistaston 7-1.

Scott Griffiths, Chris Hamlett and Daniel Tbow were also on the mark.

Flying Lady had Leon Gaunt, Craig Hawkey and Ben McGraw on the scoresheet, but Wick hit back to win 5-3 with goals from Bowker, Watts, Verling and a Brown double.

Faddiley ran out 6-3 winners at Audlem DK, helped by a hat-trick from Tizard.

Keiron Banks also managed three in Salvador's 4-1 win over Boot and Shoe Villa.

Paul Smith, Andy Twiss and Daniel Billington were the scorers in Malbank's 3-1 stroll over Vine.

In the only league game played, Beeston Castle secured their third win of the season as they beat Express 4-1 with doubles from Richard Moss and Henry Buckley.
