Cricket: Rode Park find batting form

Ian Harding's 93 helped them reach 209-5, while Neil Chadwick weighed in with 61, before opponents Holmes Chapel were bowled out for 111.

In Zone B, Wood Lane hold a five-point advantage over near neighbours Audley, who they beat by 89 runs.

Wood Lane had a half-century from Dave Cooper in their 175-6, before Audley were restricted to 86-6.

Ray Doyle (73no) and Rob Cook-Sievewright (69no) helped Nantwich to overhaul Scot Hay's 146-4, in which John Shenton made 62.

Hem Heath are looking like champions in Zone D as they have a 15-point advantage.

This week they posted 151-5, and then dismissed Blythe for 111 to record another win.

Wedgwood & Stanfields won at Newcastle Hawks, with Lennie Smith (45) and Gareth Lello (37) leading the way in the visitors' total of 139.

Oliver Holland then took 3-13 in restricting Hawks to 101.

In Zone C, it is a two-horse race with only Porthill Park capable of catching leaders Stone SP, who eased to victory over Woore.

Whitmore came within seven runs of damaging Porthill Park's title hopes as they ran out of overs on 115-4 (Rob Dixon 54) chasing Park's 121-5 (Matt Rogalski 41).

Newcastle Knights also came agonisingly close to beating Hanford as Rob Walker scored 43 as they hit 116 in reply to Hanford's 125-4.

Ashley Forrester top-scored for Hanford with 74no and Andy Pickerill took 4-19 in the chase.
