CHEADLE virtually wrapped up the JS Sports Kidsgrove & District League Section C championship as they stormed to an 113-run victory at Wootton.

James Sellers (57) and Scott Harvey (43) made the bulk of Cheadle's 151-3 declared before David Booth (4-3) had Wootton retreating to 38 all out.

Cheadle's lead of 53 points with just three games remaining looks unassailable, leaving Blythe and Stone to battle it out for runners-up spot.

Both enjoyed easy wins and Blythe posted the biggest score of the day as they amassed 227-2 at Stafford. Chris Beech (78no) and Matthew Goodwin (62) were the major contributors.

Craig Grimley took 4-39 as Stafford were dismissed for 98 to leave Blythe 20 points clear of Stone, who have a game in hand.

Micky Chandler took four wickets for just one run as Stone routed their visitors Church Eaton for only 36 before completing a seven-wicket success.

Oakamoor have been in fine form of late and they chalked up another victory after David Hordern (5-20) restricted fourth-placed Moddershall to 72-9. Tom Sherratt (41no) guided the home side to 73-2.

The only century-maker of the day was Moddershall's Sam Kelsall, who made an undefeated 113 in his team's overwhelming Section B victory at Hanford.

Dean Tooth provided solid support with 51no as the visitors made 183 without loss before Tim Hull (6-13) helped to skittle Hanford for 57.

Elsewhere in the section, Meakins were celebrating after moving up to fourth spot after a terrific 10-wicket win at third-placed Hem Heath.

Conwin Talbot took 3-12 as the hosts were bowled out for 88 before Joe Prince (48no) and Adam Cookson (33no) knocked off the runs.

Liam Williams had time to make 56 of Newcastle & Hartshill's 152 all out at Caverswall before the rain forced an abandonment.

Porthill Park marched into the final of the League Cup with a commanding performance against their hosts Whitmore.

Josh Cartlidge (56), Sam Johnson (45) and Dean Pritchard (31) took Porthill's total up to 211 all out in their 40 overs before Whitmore were dismissed for 90.
