Crewe Alex: Faroe Islands keeper lands trial
The 23-year-old Runavik keeper is the second Faroe Islands international to join the Alex on trial after right-back Jonas Tor Naes featured in warm-ups against Nantwich and Hyde.
Tor Naes will also turn out against Vale at the Reaseheath training complex, although Thordarson says signing either of them is not his priority.
The Alex boss is inclined to turn to the loan market to bring in a centre-half and a midfielder, although he is unlikely to follow up interest in Manchester City defender Clayton McDonald and Blackburn midfielder Alex Marrow.
"Jonas has done well and his attitude is spot on," said Thordarson. "We have seen what he can do in the pre-season games, but as Todur is contracted to a club, we will only able to watch him behind-closed-doors. I am keeping my options open and if there is something worth looking at out there, that is what I'll do.
"But there are two pockets I need to fill now and Jonas and the keeper are not the priority, they are something maybe for the future.
"I wasn't happy with my other trialists, so I'm likely to go into the loan market."
Today's game will afford Thordarson a chance to assess players such as Byron Moore, Ashley Westwood and James Bailey, whose starts have been limited during pre-season.
