Bloxwich CC First XI (63) lost to Pelsall CC First XI (88) by 25 runs

VISITORS Pelsall won a low scoring derby at Stafford Road on Saturday as the bowlers were on top from the word go.

Having won the toss and decided to bowl, hosts Bloxwich made early inroads through Aaron Allcock (2-28) and Iqbal Masood (2-23).

This work was built on by Maroof Azam (3-19) and James Lewis (3-6) with the last six wickets falling for just 17 runs, McPherson top-scoring with a watchful (22).

In reply, the hosts made a steady start with Danny King (14) leading the way.

However, Holmes (6-17) and Parsons (4-19) ripped through the home team as they limped to 63 all out, with only Masood (25) pitting up any real resistance.

Staffs Clubs League Division 1A

Pelsall CC Second XI (52) lost to Bloxwich CC Second XI (125) by 73 runs

BLOXWICH seconds ensured the result in the reverse game went the other way with a fantastic bowling effort.

After being put in to bat, Kelton Scott (18), Jim Lewis (27), Mark Allcock (18) and Ash Worgan (16) helped Bloxwich recover from 43-5 to post 125.

S Thomas (3-13) and Wood (3-18) were the pick of the Pelsall attack.

Pelsall's reply began at a canter but the run out of New (13) triggered a collapse with Worgan to the fore as he bowled an immaculate spell en route to figures of 7-28 including a hat-trick.

He received excellent support from Lewis (2-22) as Pelsall were skittled for a lowly 52.

Bloxwich CC Third XI (130) beat Beacon CC (96) by 34 runs

BLOXWICH thirds also picked up a win in another relatively low scoring game.

After being asked to bat, Rich Golder (43), Simon Lunn (16) and Alan Fletcher (19) helped the hosts close on 130 all out in the 50th over.

In reply, despite the best efforts of Allsop (67), Beacon were bowled out for 96, with Rich Dale (6-29) backed up by Nathan Langley (2-14) and Paul Poxton (1-22), who also contributed an excellent run out.

Beacon CC (167-8) drew with Bloxwich CC Fourth XI (114-8)

BLOXWICH fourths came away from Beacon with a winning draw in a rain-affected contest.

Having restricted the hosts to 167 with Dan Palmer (4-50) leading the way, the visitors got off to a steady start through Nathan Ensor (27) and Ade Riley (33). However wickets fell in the quest for quick runs, with Ben Hollowood (19no) securing the draw.
