Athletics: Lennox and Cooper reveal their multiple talents
Lennox, the 18-year-old English Schools' champion from Stafford, heads the list with a best overall score of 4,978 points.
Cooper, from Eaton Park, returned to multi-event competition for the first time for more than two years in the summer to win the under-20s heptathlon for England in the Home Counties International, and by doing so shot into second spot in the rankings with 4,920 points.
Their multi-event talents sees both girls also rank highly in several other disciplines.
Cooper claims fifth place in the long jump with a best of 5.90m while Lennox, who is now studying at Brunel University, is just two centimetres behind in sixth spot.
Cooper confirms her sprinting ability as she features in seventh over 200m and 12th in the 100m list, plus ninth in the 100m hurdles with a best of 14.50.
The all-round ability of Cooper is further confirmed by her 13th ranking in the javelin list.
Lennox appears 16th in the hurdles, 21st in the javelin and ranks 14th in the shot. She also has a high jump placing of 15th with a best of 1.67m.
Another outstanding Stoke number one is Ashlee Nelson, the sprinter from Birches Head, who claims top spot in the 100m rankings with a best of 11.36 set at the IAAF Golden League Meeting in Berlin.
She also made her presence felt over 200m with a third-place ranking.
Former Stoke athlete Jade Moore, who is now with Birchfield Harriers, has the distinction of taking fourth place in the discus rankings with a best of 44.37m.
Moore, from Bentilee, won both the Staffs AAA championship and the county schools title, and finished second at the English Schools' championships.
Meir shot put starlet Jade Weston is fifth in her speciality event with 12.84m.
The City of Stoke AC thrower finished second at both the English Schools' championships and the Midland championships in the summer ... and also has a discus ranking of 22nd.
Cannock and Stafford AC triple jumper Gemma Smith looks to have a bright future after a best of 12.05m ranks her third overall at under-20 level. She also ranks 21st in the high jump with 1.65m.
Team-mate Laura Simmonds makes her mark with 16th in the long jump with a leap of 5.55m.
On the track, Staffordshire champion, Cally Read, also of Cannock and Stafford, is ranked 13th over 800m and 26th in the 400m.
Other City of Stoke athletes in the top 50 include Kate Anderson, who is 26th in the shot, Charlotte James, who is 37th in the javelin and Natasha Stevens, who is 39th in the heptathlon.
CITY of Stoke's Kate Holt was the third fastest under-17s woman at the National Cross-Country Relays in Berry Hill Park, Mansfield.
Holt posted a time of 8.40.50 as she and team-mates Sammy Jo Daley Davies and Sophie Plant were ranked eighth out of the 43 teams competing.
