after the shock of my closest friend being lost on tuesday i'm still determinned to do this charity event as its what she was taking part in as well. i've known sammie since we were todlers. our deaf community and coda family have a strong connection. we support eachother through thick and thin. we have so many memories of our child hood that we'll never forget.like when we were babysat in torquey when the deaf adults went out we'd get up to mischief while the baby sitter was downstairs. to the point that sammie flipped over from the top bunk and amazingly landed on her feet, and yes we did get a telling off because we werent sleeping.

we'd visit eachother for birthdays and play together at the stoke sports and social club for the Deaf. as we got a bit older and went to school we didnt see much of each other until her father moved up to stoke. then i remember her turning up at the deaf club in a bright pink wooly track suit and from then on our relationship grew stronger. we starting hangin out and getting up to mischief as we did when we were todlers. watching movies together feeding our faces. best moment was when we were watching resident evil, a part made us both jump that we literally were in eachother's arms like scooby doo and shaggy!!! then we burst out laughing. we even joined together and made a dance routine with other codas and did it for the talent show at the coda camp, didnt win but it was brilliant and to have done it with her and laughed about it after because we both realised we'd had a hick up in the routine!!

then when she moved about again i didn't see her for a while but made sure we kept in touch. that was when she had her beautiful baby girl tori, who hads already started to learn sign language from her mum and granddad, she had difficulties when she was born but she was well supported. eventually moved back into stoke on trent and managed to get her own flat where she brought tori up. she settle down so much and was being a brilliant mum so between my shifts with deaf blind uk i would go to see her and tori, have a cuppa n a good natter about her child, family friends and quote Lee Evans's jokes. we'd usually finish eachother's lines and burst out laughing to the point of crying. when the next dvd came out we were so excited, think she already watched it loads and quoted a bit before i could even get chance come round watch it with her!!

She was a brilliant girl and an amazing friend that would listen to ya problems and help any way she could. always came up with brilliant ideas like a ann summers house party we had no long ago and we had vodka jellies!! we had such a brilliant night and laughing none stop with all the other deaf girls and codas.

i just only wish that she was here. so she could bring her daughter up, do this jump like she was going to. be with her direct family, deaf family, coda family and her friends who all love her so much and build more happy memories. luv ya loads babes!!!

the bungee jump takes place 26th February at the Oak Tree Pub, Oakhill, Stoke-on-trent at 4pm

there will be a display of information about the charity and a few thinks that would make people aware of what its like to be deaf and blind.
