Christian 'excited' about TV role

14:00 - 23-July-2008

Christian Slater has talked about how excited he is about embarking on his new TV role in NBC drama My Own Worst Enemy.

"When they presented me with this material I was just really excited," the actor told Access Hollywood. "I thought they were really assembling a nice crew and a good group of people, that I think it'll be a lot of fun to be around."

Better known for his roles in movies such as Heathers and True Romance, it seems Christian took inspiration from Jason Lee in My Name Is Earl, for which he had a guest role in 2006.

"When I did My Name Is Earl, I certainly saw how difficult the job that Jason Lee has and how devoted and committed he is, but I was just ready," he said. "I think whether it was TV or stage or film, it just didn't matter. It was a great opportunity to be a part of something very special and challenging."

Christian plays two characters, Henry Spivey and Edward Albright in the show which will air on US network NBC in October.
