How the shake-up could pan out...
THE plans include:
Closing Heathfield School, in Chell Heath. Pupils and staff will transfer to Middlehurst School, in Chell, which will be either remodelled or completely rebuilt on the same site as an academy.

Shutting Mitchell Business and Enterprise College, in Bucknall, and Edensor Technology College, in Longton, to make way for a new academy. Sponsored by Stoke-on-Trent College, it would either be built at a gasometer site alongside Park Hall Country Park or at Springfield, Adderley Green.
Closing St Peter's High, in Penkhull, and Berry Hill High to make way for an academy in Fenton, jointly sponsored by Woodard Schools and the Lichfield diocese.
Replacing James Brindley Science College, in Chell, with an academy sponsored by NHS Stoke-on-Trent in partnership with Keele University.
Replacing Brownhills College, in Tunstall, with an academy sponsored by Co-op Travel.
