It's murder in the car park
A COUNCIL car park is to become a murder scene for a film this week.
A group of students from Staffordshire University will be shooting the film on the Stafford Borough Council car park, next to the Civic Centre in Stafford.
The picture is called Blood Lust and is a short crime film.
It is about the investigation into the murder of a young office worker found stabbed to death on a car park.
The 12-strong crew will be filming on Saturday, between 9am and 1pm.
The script has been written by final year student Andrew Hargraves, who also produces and directs the film.
Andrew, aged 21, said: "We needed a location to shoot the opening scenes and the council car park fitted the bill.
"I am really pleased for the help I've been given by the council and the local police to enable us to do the filming."
It is not the first time the council property has been used for student films, with both the reception area and roof providing a backdrop on previous occasions.
Ian Thompson, council chief executive, said: "This is one of the more unusual requests we have had, but I am pleased we are able to help out."
