What's happening, where and when
8AM – COMMUTER CHALLENGE STARTS AT TRENTHAM HOTEL
A motorist, a jogger, a bus passenger and a cyclist all race to reach the Civic Centre finish line first. Other cyclists are encouraged to take part and cycle to work a part of national Bike Week.
9AM – BIKER'S BREAKFAST AT THE JUBILEE HALL, CIVIC CENTRE
Commuter Challenge competitors finish at the Civic Centre in Stoke where a biker's breakfast is provided for all. This includes a showing of the Tour Series DVD, a breakfast buffet, several stalls and a speech from Shanaze Reade, world BMX and Track Cycling champion.
11AM – BURNWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL BMX TRACK OPENING
Shanaze Reade opens the new facilities of the first school in the country to have a velodrome and a BMX track.
2PM – COUNTDOWN IN THE CITY CENTRE
Schools arrive at the city centre and prepare for the schools ride. All bikes will be parked in the Victoria Hall car park after the ride.
3PM – SCHOOLS RIDE
Ten schools with a mascot will lead the ride with another 12 schools following. Olympic veteran, Les West, will lead the ride which will be started by Shanaze Reade. The ride will take around 45 minutes and each child will be awarded a medal from Shanaze.
3.50PM – VETERANS RIDE
Veteran cyclists, including Olympic athletes from the past will be racing around the circuit.
4.30PM – ALLEYCAT GAMES
Sprinting games on a bike in Parliament Row for secondary school pupils.
6PM – WARM-UP
The riders start their warm-up laps of the circuit.
7PM – TOUR SERIES RACE
The professional sprint begins.
8.15PM – PRIZES
The winners of the professional race are awarded their prizes on the podium.
8.30PM – EVENT CLOSES
