Influence shape of new estate

THE public can help shape the future of a new city centre community at a consultation event this weekend.

Developer Taylor Young is drawing up a masterplan for the development of City Waterside East in Hanley.

Residents will be able to have their say on plans for housing, roads, health facilities and play areas in the Botteslow Street, Bucknall New Road and Ivy House Road areas of Hanley.

They can attend a consultation at City Waterside Community Centre in Dresden Street between midday and 4pm tomorrow.

Councillor Adrian Knapper, Stoke-on-Trent City Council's portfolio holder for regeneration, said: "City Waterside East is undergoing an immense period of change and transformation.

"This is the most important part of the process and it's vital local people give their views."

Developers will also take the public on tours of the site.
