£195m to combat crisis
THE UK has pledged £195 million to Yemen to help stabilise the impoverished nation.
The country faces a humanitarian crisis after months of political conflict following the overthrow of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The UK's contribution is part of £4 billion being given in global aid as the nation battles food shortages and post-Arab Spring unrest, the World Bank said.
Yemen has said it needs almost £7.5 billion in total to help fight the food and security crisis.
