Prosser still prepared to show Adams he can play

UNWANTED defender Luke Prosser has refused to close the door on his Port Vale future as his successful loan spell at Salisbury City draws to an end.

The 21-year-old was one of six players, also including striker Danny Glover, to be placed on the club's transfer-list by boss Micky Adams before the start of the season.

In their search for first-team football Prosser and Glover secured loan moves to Blue Square Premier outfit Salisbury on one-month deals which expire next Saturday.

While Prosser would be happy to extend his stay in Wiltshire, the centre-back would also relish the chance to prove his worth to Adams.

"To be honest I'm enjoying playing again and if Salisbury's manager (Nick Holmes) wants me to stay for another month I'd be happy to do so," said Prosser.

"But I'm not at all saying I wouldn't go back to Port Vale if I got the chance to prove myself.

"I've been at Vale a long time and a change of club has done me good.

"But if I go back I still want to prove the manager wrong – you can never say never."

Prosser has impressed playing at centre-back for Salisbury during one substitute appearance and four starts.

However, if he is still surplus to requirements at Vale Park he may have to look elsewhere for a loan move following Salisbury's plunge into administration.

Prosser, a youth graduate, has made 33 senior appearances for Vale and earned a new one-year contract at the end of last season.
