IT'S a punishable offence to be poor.

Again, the Government are robbing the poor to keep the rich happy. Who would have thought of a bedroom tax? That is going as low as you can go, isn't it?

Next, the Government will be taxing the public on how many doors you have in your property and window tax, like they did hundreds of years ago.

The trouble is, the poor people who have lost their jobs or are not well enough to work are at the Government's mercy. We are being bullied.

“How are the poor being bullied? Let's see...

The 'benefit cap' - actually a punishment for having a greedy landlord or daring to live in an area with high housing costs.
Incapacity benefit claimants reassessed using much tougher Employment and Support Allowance rules, with high proportion found fit for work despite no real change in their state of health.
Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance stopped after 12 months, regardless of the number of years you've paid NI contributions.
    Child benefit frozen.
The 'bedroom tax' - only social housing tenants getting housing benefit affected, even if there's no smaller property their landlord can offer them or they need the 'spare' room for medical reasons or children visiting regularly (eg after divorce/separation)
Planned cuts of 20% to Dsability Living Allowance budget through introduction of Personal Independence Payments.
The end of full Council Tax Benefit for most working-age claimants, with Stoke-on-Trent claimants facing minimum 30% of the full charge in most cases.
Benefits proposed to rise by no more than 1% regardless of the rate of inflation, hitting low-paid working families as well as unemployed people, carers and disabled claimants.

And the incessant media obsession with benefit fraud, when it's a lot less than the amount of benefit underpaid and a fraction of the tax dodged and defrauded, of course.

    Jobeeone is 100% correct.”

“Its a plain fact that apathy as ruled for years.
This has given the green light to councils and Governments to do as they like.
The best support has been given by those that have sat on their lazy behinds and voted for the lying bunch of hypocrites in both local and national government.”

“Oh I know lets blame the Tories for everything eh??? People have very short memories it was a Labour government that left us in the mess we are in, the current government are trying to bring us out of it. Also how are the poor being bullied???”

“The government aren't the only ones doing the bullying. They wouldn't go through with welfare policies if it wasn't so popular with the hang em high brigade.
People decide from the comfort of their lounge who is deserving and undeserving and this leaves governments free to make blanket changes which affect everyone including highly vulnerable people.
Its called divide and conquer and wouldn't be an option if people just thought a bit more deeply and weren't so delighted about judging their fellow humans.”
