Brian Shirley has been going to Smallthorne Family Dental Practice for 45 years. The 61-year-old, from Sneyd Green, said: "It is excellent. The old building was just a converted terrace house.

"This is bigger and modern – much more user friendly."

Eighty-eight-year-old Leonard Foxley, who lives on the same road as the practice in Smallthorne, said: "I have been a patient at the practice for 63 years.

"This new building is amazing. It would almost be a pleasure to have your teeth pulled out here."

Gaynor Webb, aged 62, from Smallthorne, has been a loyal patient at the practice for seven years.

She said: "The new building is really beautiful and the staff are lovely.

"It is a credit to Sam and all his hard work."
