“I have had a couple of takeaways previously from Maliks when he was in Chesterton and was very impressed with the food but Chesterton was just that bit too far to go to collect a takeaway from where I live. I used to use this place when it was the Alok and enjoyed it so I was disappointed when it closed, but I got to hear that Malik was going to open a restaurant here so I have been looking forward to trying it. We visited on Saturday night and I have to say I was very impressed with the food and the service. I had the chicken tikka madras and it was spot on. The peas rice and cheese and chilli nan were also fantastic, I for one shall definitely return”
“I have eaten curry in every major city in the UK, Look me up on Trip Advisor (currymonster66). I even make all of my own curry dishes, you name it, I can cook it. Have a look at Curry Barking Mad web site to see how passionate I am about curry. I have to express myself before making comments and judging peoples businesses that could potentially damage their livelihoods. I was visiting family over the weekend, I aint been to Newcastle for while. I have been to Maliks takeaway in Chess yonks ago and realy enjoyed the food, (top snappin) I only found out about the new Restaurant via The Sentinel that I have to read online these days due to Moving out of the area. May n Mar Lady visited the new restaurant, there was never a doubt in my mind that the food was going to be fantastic. The service was excellent, very welcoming, very polite and popadoms and yummy dips soon landed on our table. I went for the Tandoori chicken starter, amazing. That is one of the few dishes that I can not master at home. I always go for hot curry so I finished with the Chicken Vindaloo, that was perfect. Also had mushroom rice and garlic naan bread. Very impressed, It's not a bad pint either. There is a very distinct flavour with all of Maliks meals. He will not share the secrets, I have tried and tried but I still can not master his food. My Mrs is a very strict vegetarian and can always tell if her food has been contaminated by meat products. Maliks is one of the few places that understand vegetarianism and not just say that they do. This place has to be well within my top ten list of top Indian curry Takeaway/Restaurants. I can not wait to visit again and pop in to Mr Maliks. I am amazed by a few of the Numpty comments on here (is the meat halal) ***, . Maybe they could be coming from local competition in the area. Good luck with your new venture Mr Malik. A Conna fault ya. SI”

“If this is owned by the same people who advertise and deliver to Keele, the quality and service has always been excellent in my experience.”
