Why I like Staffordshire

Because, and I'm talking about North Staffordshire here, -being born and raised here, it means most of my relatives and friends are here, and well, the place has grown on me over the years I suppose. And in particularly, what's grown on me, and what I like, is the feeling of being in a 'funnily-structured', geographically and politically, unorthodox conurbation, with a strong sense of place re the Six-Towns 'identity' -set in the foothills of the Pennines and surrounded by, to the West, -the rolling rich pasture-lands of Shropshire and Cheshire, contrasting with the rugged, craggy dotted moorlands to the East, away from the madding crowds -of Birmingham to the south and Manchester to our north. The people are quaint too, and most of them friendly, and very colloquial.

Why I don't like Staffordshire

I'm not proud of the fact that North Staffordshire has the shameful record of being among the worst places in the whole of the UK for being cruel to animals -according to the figures released by the RSPCC. At one time it was top of the league ........ Sad to realise. How can such a perceived friendly people -have in their midst -many with such an attitude to animals? Perplexing to say the least.
