MUSIC: One of Ireland's finest traditional music bands, Dervish, will play at the New Vic Theatre in Basford tonight at 7.30pm. Call the box office on 01782 717962.

CLASSICAL: Pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, winner of the keyboards final of the BBC Young Musician Of The Year in 2004, performs at the Forum Theatre, Potteries Museum and Art Gallery tomorrow. The concert, which includes works by Kapustin, Liszt, Chopin and Ravel, begins at 8pm. Call 01782 206000.

JAZZ: The Coffin Dodgers Jazz Band, with Dave Mott on reeds and Ian Royle on trumpet, play at The Old Brown Jug in Newcastle, on Sunday, February 14 from 1pm-3pm. Admission is free.

FOLK: Featuring a number of talented young folk musicians, The Old Dance School plays at The Cuckoo's Nest Folk Club, The Swan, in Leek on Thursday, from 8pm. Tickets cost £9 or £10 on the door. Call 01538 385260.
