Wonderful ward and great care

I HAVE just spent a few days on Ward 64 at the City General Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent.

The staff on this ward are excellent. Most patients on the ward are elderly and frail, but are treated with great tenderness and respect.

I could not have had better treatment if I had been in a private hospital.

I had heard this ward was not very good, so I would like to give you my opinion.

The ward is kept clean, even though it can't be easy, as it is a very old building and is one of the old Nightingale Wards.

The nursing care is excellent. All my needs were met with a smile and, although it is a busy ward, the staff were always there if I needed any help.

Another point that needs to be said is about feeding patients.

If anybody sees trays on the beds of those who cannot feed themselves, then the only reason is because staff give all the patients' meals out and then they go back and feed those patients that cannot feed themselves, so they always get their food.

Once again, I would like to give very grateful thanks to the staff of Ward 64 for all the care received.
