TV star helps birthday bash

CHILDREN'S TV star Justin Fletcher will be guest of honour at Girlguiding Staffordshire's 100th birthday celebration.

He is the first guest to be announced for the 'Party in the Park' style event to mark the centenary year.

Justin, who was presented with an MBE earlier this year for services to television, is known for his appearances on Cbeebies. And Girlguiding Staffordshire's Maureen Recine is delighted he will be joining the event.

She added: "Our youngest members, who are only five, can't wait to see him."

More acts are to follow for the event, which will be held in the grounds of Shugborough Hall on September 5.

The party marks 100 years to the day since the original formation of the movement, by Robert Baden-Powell, in 1909.
