THE teacher at the centre of a swine flu alert has been given the all-clear by doctors after completing a course of anti-viral drugs treatment.

It means Michael Lennon, who is also a leading striker for Nantwich Town football club, is no longer in quarantine at his Trentham home. He attended pre-season training at the club last night

It is not yet known when he will be returning to Edensor Technology College, in Longton, where he works as a PE teacher.

Mr Lennon, aged 27, contracted swine flu after spending a week in Las Vegas for his stag party. Another Dabbers player, defender Mark Beeston, from Madeley Heath, was on the same trip and also tested positive for the virus. He has been recovering well at home, but did not attend training.

In a statement, Nantwich Town said: “Lennon has responded so well to the treatment that he is now free to move from the confinement of his home.

“Lennon’s first reaction was to collect his football training kit and head for The Weaver Stadium, where he joined in the first pre-season training session.”
