Laura Brown, pictured, will travel to Mexico next week to spend three months working with two volunteer projects, after her trip was funded by a Wolstanton firm.
The 28-year-old NHS worker said: "I will be based at a centre for children with a range of physical and learning disabilities, there are not really any services like this in Mexico so it allows single mums to go out and work.
"I will also be working at a centre for adults who can't afford healthcare."
The two projects are located in Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific Coast.
Laura's plane tickets were paid for by Castle Comfort Stair Lifts after she placed an advert appealing for help in The Sentinel .
Laura, from Cannock, is still looking for companies and individuals to help fund the rest of her trip.
Anyone who can help should contact Laura on lauk_brown@hotmail.com
