MORE than 50 jobs will be created by the opening of a new hotel.

The Ramada Encore is expected to open in Crewe in October.

Ramada already has a four-star, 64-room hotel in the town's Macon Way.

Now business chiefs are welcoming the Encore hotel, based at Crewe Business Park, which they hope will attract more visitors to the area.

The new hotel in Electra Way will have state-of-the-art facilities and contemporary accommodation.

Billed as "the perfect base for the business traveller", the five-story building has 112 modern, en suite bedrooms, bar, lounge and restaurant with seven meeting rooms.

Bedrooms will be equipped with facilities including high speed internet access, flat screen satellite TVs and power showers. The hotel will also provide event and banqueting services, as well as tailored wedding packages.

John Dunning, pictured, chief executive of South Cheshire Chamber Of Commerce, said: "The chamber very much welcomes this new hotel, particularly one of this quality and particularly because it is located on Crewe Business Park.

"We have been campaigning for a long time for this type of hotel and conference facilities in the vicinity of the business park, and hope it will provide a quality facility for businesses in the local area.

"There is a great demand for hotel space in Crewe and the creation of new jobs can only be a positive thing for the town."

The hotel and creation of new jobs have also been welcomed by Chris Brown, chief executive of Visit Chester And Cheshire.

He said: "This is one of the latest in a series of high-profile investments in the Crewe area, which reflects the growing importance and impact of South Cheshire's visitor economy both locally and in Cheshire as a whole."

Ronnie Cherian, director of operations at Crewe's Ramada Hotel in Macon Way, said: "To have two Ramada hotels in Crewe, they must believe it is worth investing in the Ramada brand in Crewe.

"Normally you wouldn't have two Ramada hotels so close to each other in the same town, but the Encore is more like a budget hotel and we cater for four-star accommodation.

"I am looking at it positively. It will be a very good thing for the town, especially with the creation of more jobs."

The hotel is now recruiting for various roles.
