No need in UK for faster trains
WHAT utter lunacy to have a high speed rail link to London.
It's London – only just down the road, unlike France where cities are hours apart.
This sort of money would be better spent laying water pipes in preparation for the next drought. If this scheme goes ahead it will tantamount to the inmates running the asylum.

Superfast BT infinity type of broadband will speed up our communication much better than train travel. People can talk to each other via a video link and there will be less demand for travel.
Those who want faster journey can fly from one place to the other.
The cost of journey by air from London to Manchester, Edinburgh or Glasgow is lower than train journey and you will get there much quicker.”
