Breakfast on the farm

HUNDREDS of Staffordshire sausages, oatcakes, eggs and other farmhouse foods were on the menu as hungry residents headed to a county farm.

Around 250 people visited Amerton Farm and Craft Centre, Stowe by Chartley, near Stafford, on Friday as part of Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

The national campaign aimed to raise awareness among children about where their food comes from.

The event saw a team of 26 volunteers serve up breakfast for school children, firefighters, police officers, teachers, nurses and residents.

It was organised by Eunice Finney, of Amerton Farm and Staffordshire Rural Hub, with support from the National Farmers' Union.
