IF you want to find out what’s happening in your part of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire or South Cheshire, you’ve come to the right place.
The Sentinel News Map allows you to get the latest local news, sport, entertainment and community information from your neighbourhood.
Simply click on a circle next to one of the towns featured below, and you’ll be redirected to a section dedicated to that place.
However, our commitment to providing the best local information doesn’t end there. As part of our role at the heart of all things local, we’re improving this service even more.
We’ve launched an exciting new project to create dedicated websites within www.thisisthesentinel.co.uk for each of the communities we serve.
As well as news from each of the towns and villages, we’ll be offering much more, including:
* A guide to each place’s history and heritage, plus details of shops, pubs, places to eat, leisure facilities, parks and more
* A whole range of useful links, from your local police and council contacts, to details of local health services, schools and bus times
* A chance for you to send us your news from your area. Perhaps a community group has achieved success and you want to shout about it. Maybe you’reorganising a fund-raising event and want people to come along. Or perhaps there’s a problem that the council or police need to tackle. Our special Your News service allows you to make the news as well as read about it.
* Local picture slideshows to celebrate your area’s past and highlight how it’s changing for the future
* Opinion polls on the big issues affecting your neighbourhood, so you can have your say.
We also want to know what else you’d like to see on these dedicated sites so that they become real hubs of information.
And if you’d like to become one of our Community Correspondents, keeping others in your area up-to-date with what’s on and what’s happening, we’d love to hear from you. To find out more, get in touch here.
We’re making a start with Burslem, Mother Town of the Potteries, and over the coming weeks and months, this dedicated local service will be expanded to include the other key communities in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and South Cheshire.
Keep your eye on this page to see how the project is progressing – and let us know what you think.
