VERDI'S Requiem can be heard in Hanley tomorrow night when the Ceramic City Choir, Leek Phoenix Singers, pictured right, and Orchestra de Camera perform the powerful work at the Victoria Hall at 7.30pm. Call 0844 871 7649 for tickets or pay on the door.

And Wetley Rocks Male Voice Choir will be at Hill Top Methodist Church in Biddulph Moor tomorrow night to perform alongside soprano Christine Birch at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door.

Michael Rhodes, city consultant organist at the Victoria Hall, will be performing an organ recital at Newcastle Baptist Church next Saturday at 7.30pm to celebrate the arrival of a new Phoenix Organ. Admission is £5 on the door.

The concerts continue at Keele University on Wednesday night with a performance by the Galliard Ensemble in the Westminster Theatre at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12 or £6 for concessions. Call 01782 717058.

Clonter Opera's second folk evening of the year will be held at the theatre in Swettenham Heath, Congleton, next Saturday at 7pm. The performance will include a 70-minute interval where audience members can either pre-order Staffordshire Lobby (beef stew) at £9.50 each, or reserve an indoor table and bring their own food. On Monday, November 30 two of the world's finest military bands perform at the Victoria Hall as part of a Military Music Spectacular. The evening will feature a mixture of traditional military music, show-stoppers and solos. It starts at 7.30pm. Call 0844 871 7649.
