Chart Choice with Darren Spence

BRYN Christopher was one of the new stars to break through last year, helped by his much talked about performances at the summer festivals.

His last album, My World, received critical acclaim but it seems that he's already leaving that album behind with his new song Fearless – unless it features on a re-issue of the album.

If you liked Mark Ronson's Stop Me, you'll love this. Plenty of horns, and his brilliant, soulful voice.

Meanwhile Fall Out Boy are doing their best Smashing Pumpkins impression in the video for their new song America's Suitehearts (yes, that is how they've spelt it) but much as I've liked Sugar We're Goin Down, Dance Dance and This Ain't A Scene This Is An Arms Race, I'm getting bored with their formula now and this is nothing special.

I really enjoyed Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out. It's an anthem and still sounds great today.

Everything else since has been a let down and when Ulysees comes out on Monday, I'm sure others will also wonder if they'll ever do anything that the nation will love again. Like Kaiser Chiefs, I think their best has been and gone already. Sorry lads.

The Killers, on the other hand, consistently bring out great radio hits that are so uplifting I just want to keep singing. Spaceman isn't quite as instantly pleasing as, nor will it create anything like the denser/dancer debate, of Human, and I fear we may have already enjoyed the best track from current album Day & Age, but it's still worth windows-down-volume-up for four minutes and 45 seconds.

Pink's So What is refusing to disappear, but her next song is out on Monday. Sober is a bit Kelly Clarkson to say the least, but so many people are finding different reasons to fall in love with it.
