They're monkeys in red rosettes
WHAT is it about our council? The Labour party is asking us to vote Labour in the local elections in May to show the "Condems" how unhappy we are with them, but what happens when your council is just as bad?
They are cutting thousands of pounds out of our services, resulting in closures and job losses such as swimming pools, mobile libraries and Fenton library, even though they are ploughing thousands into The Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall to keep them open.
Their defence is the two theatres attract more people and spending money to the city (Fenton Library had more visitors in a year than both theatres put together).
So what does our council do? It closes the car parks and writes off over a million pounds loaned to Port Vale FC to save it from closure – even though their average attendance is only about 3,500 per home game.

What about the companies, including the small ones? Is the council going to bail them out?
So, before you vote in May think very carefully about who you are voting for.
It's time this council realised the days when a monkey could put a red rosette on and get elected are over.
It says it all when someone dislikes the way a job is being done and challenges for the job, then, when it fails, they are sacked.
