I'm so glad we chose this place
REGARDING the recent comments concerning the grass cutting in local cemeteries, I would like to point out the outstanding transformation that has taken place at Longton Garden of Remembrance.
When I lost my son, we looked at various options, Carmountside being one of them, as it is kept immaculately. However, because of the distance, we decided to use the private one at Longton.
This did become a worry when we were unsure what was happening but even before the new owners took over, it was always tidy and the grass was cut.
I would advise anyone to go and take a look. You would not think you were in Longton; it is so peaceful and lovely, and nothing is too much trouble. We are so glad we chose it.

“i agree with you Norma. Sadly my dad passed away in 2007 and we had to choose where to lay him to rest.. the main cemetary in ongton is where the majority of our families are buried. at the time the main cemetary was full and the funeral director we used recommended the garden of rememberance. my mum, brother and myself went to have a look and were amazed at how lovely and peaceful it was so thats where my dad was laid to rest. When ever we go to visit his grave there is always some one doing something to make it even more lovelier. its such a quiet peaceful feeling when we go and the staff there from the office to the gardners are and have always been very friendly..evry time we visit we are thankful in the sense that we didnt use the main cemetary as it is an eyesore and a disgrace......miss maxine cope. fenton”

“I couldn't agree with Norma's comments more, i looked around all the local cemetery's and was not happy with there lack of maintenance and general gardening or lack of
Security and peace of mind was very important to me as you here so many story's of vandalism and drunken yobish behaviour in the council run sites
I was delighted to see full time security and 24 hour monitored cctv at the Garden of Remembrance in longton and may i add that there gardening staff need a award...outstanding.. beautiful. A pleasure to visit the site and just relax with my thoughts
I would encourage anyone to take a look you will never believe that your in the heart of longton its so peaceful. Mr Martin . Fenton”
