CHEESED OFF: If Joan Walley MP actually ate at the new £35 million Haywood Hospital complex she must have gone to the cafeteria not to where the patients dine. The transferred patients from Bucknall Stroke unit are lucky to get anything to eat that is edible or not burnt. Meal requests go missing so it is a matter of like it or lump it and patients are cheesed off.

Why is it that these meals have to come from South Wales? Is there nowhere local to get these meals from, or is it a matter that these were the cheapest, even with the transport costs?

Patients are going hungry at Haywood, especially in the Sneyd Ward, the stroke unit.

It seems grossly understaffed, there is no bell push in place, a hand bell is kept in the day room, and staff cannot hear the patients when the fire door is closed.

Did this complex justify the £35 million? I think not.
