SO PRIME Minister David Cameron is expecting to renegotiate the UK's relationship with the European Union and then hold an in-out referendum.

As Holland's former Prime Minister Ruud Lubber has said, it's all take and no give with Britain.

Business leaders know how vital it is to remain within the EU.

And the UK risks a lack of serious investment from the U.S., which sees Britain as the gateway to Europe.

This country needs a definite Pro-European voice to counter the whining of the Little Englanders who comprise UKIP and the Eurosceptics.

Let's face it, just how educated is your average Brit on this matter in order for them to make an informed decision?

I relocated back to the UK with my family two years ago after a period living in Germany.

But the day that the UK exits the EU is the day I will book the tickets for a one-way trip for our family back to Berlin.

I will not have our young daughter's future prospects retarded by blind, knee-jerk jingoism.

“Ah, the old "If you disagree with me it's because you are too stupid to understand" argument. Always a winner, that one!”

“Here's how I see the future of the UK.

Scotland votes yes in a referendum on independence from the UK. They remain in the EU.

England, Wales and NI vote to leave the EU in the in/out referendum.

Large amounts of foreign investment here get moved to Scotland. Why? Because a lot of foreign manufacturers in the UK are producing for the whole EU, not just the domestic market. When the trade barriers go back up it becomes more expensive for their output destined for the European market. Therefore they scale back for just the domestic market and move the rest elsewhere.

The nationalists will counter this with their tired old "they won't stop trading with us". They miss the point and the relevance. They will still trade with us but on their terms and with us minus major Far Eastern/ North American manufacturers who are here to take advantage of the single market.

They also treat renegotiating our position as a unilateral position. We leave the EU and hey presto, we can still have free trade agreements. Who's to say the rest of Europe will agree our terms?”

“If PRIME Minister David Cameron holds an in-out referendum, then as usual about 30% of the electorate will be bothered to vote. Out of those that do vote, how many will have either the intelligence or sufficient information to make an educated judgment? The remaining 70% will then spend the rest of their miserable lives moaning about the result. It's mind-boggling how our electoral system works.”
