Pet owners are core park-users

As a responsible dog owner I feel victimised by the paranoid bureaucrats who have banned me and my dog from parks.

The reality is this will drive irresponsible dog owners to other places to allow their pets to deposit their loads.

Non-dog owners have dog owners to thank for keeping Uttoxeter's larger parks open as they are the most frequent users for the least investment. For example, how many people frequent the skate park?

I walk my dog every day and suspect there is a hard core of about eight people. Do the sums – £110,000 for a new monstrosity. The same applies to the new children's area. There is rarely anyone there.

What do dog owners get? Nowt. In the U.S., there are dog-only parks, secure places where owners can socialise their dogs and exercise them – key in the life of a healthy dog.

So the question must be asked, which councillor trod in some dog poo and made it their personal mission to persecute all dog owners?
