'As an independent, I'll slide into oblivion'
LABOUR'S surprise landslide victory in the local elections has led to the demise of a second political group.
The party last week took 17 of the 20 Stoke-on-Trent City Council seats being contested to take its tally to 26 members.
The gains saw the end of Stoke-on-Trent Independent Group.
The Potteries Alliance group has now folded with the loss of East Valley's Geoff Knight.
Former group leader councillor Peter Kent-Baguley, does not intend to rebuild the group.
He joked: "I will be independent and slide quietly into oblivion, which I think is where a lot of people at the council want me."
