PAST REVISITED: Visitors to the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery experienced how life was for Josiah Wedgwood during a Georgian-themed weekend.

The museum's Upstairs Downstairs event showed what life was like for master and servant when Josiah Wedgwood opened his first factory in 1759.

Saturday's event, part of the current Wedgwood exhibition, saw guests experience period entertainment, such as court dancing, which was enjoyed by the wealthy and powerful.

A Georgian 'butler' also outlined how to lay a table and the etiquette of fine dining.

But they also learned about how the other half lived, as a fiddler recreated the music of the day in the servants' quarters.

Museum staff, including Nicole Strachan, pictured, dressed in authentic historical costume for the weekend's event.

The Wedgwood exhibition runs until November 22.
