It was great to work at hospital
I HEARD Bucknall Hospital is shortly to close.
As an eager 18-year-old I started my nurse training there in 1961. After qualifying I stayed there until 1964.

MEMORIES: Bucknall Hospital.
It was a good place to work, a good training school and patient care was much better than seems to be the norm in today's NHS hospitals.
Many of my ex-colleagues must have by now gone to that hospital in the sky, but to any who are still around and remember me I send my very best wishes.

“That was in the days when the Hospitals were run by medical people, not accountants. When Nurses had the time to look after patients properly and Matrons were actually on the wards, and were not pseudo-managers pushing papers around a desk.”
