Our freedoms have been lost
REGARDING Martin Tideswell's 'Personally Speaking' article on the BNP's Michael Coleman headlined: 'His views are bizarre but it was wrong to prosecute BNP leader' (Sentinel, October 2).
The only thing I agree with is his comments about our ability to be tolerant and a safe haven for the persecuted and peoples of other races, cultures and creeds.
The tolerance is forced upon us by the powers that now be. In respect of democracy and a free country, this seems something I remember in a distant past.
As in the case of Michael Coleman, if you speak out then expect to be shot down.

Those shooting you down don't necessarily believe you to be wrong but feel that they need to be politically correct.
Unfortunately, the Government, police chiefs and the like are now populated by the 'knee-jerkers' who are 'brain washed' in this way.
I do not agree with extreme beliefs but I do believe the hard-won freedoms secured by our forefathers in two World Wars have been taken away.

“Don't worry about being shot down, speak out anyway :)
You have to remember Bill that Martin Tideswell is an employee, and is therefore susceptible to re-directing by his superiors! lol.”

“Bill, no doubt you will be shot down for even suggesting that this is freedom of speech.
With our Police state being formed your every word is being scrutinised in case it "offends" someone, or some imaginary person can find "offence".”

“In my comment below (9.16) the **** in front of geneous refer to a four letter word which is latin for "man" and was automatically removed for fear of offending homosexuals? However the word meant "all mixed up"!”

“Yes, Bill Sinclair is correct, it is part of a gradual process this last 30 or 40 years to "deconstruct" British society and British history by gradually closing down free speech so as not to interfere with "their" project. By "their" I refer to the big money men, the international elites, who intend to turn the western nations into a ****geneous mass of mongrelised slaves in furterence of money and money power. The results of this are already plain in Stoke by high unemployment, failing infra structure, housing shortage and alien people. We must all speak out to reverse this trend - better still, join and vote for the BNP.”
